General Education Faculty
The General Education Faculty specialises in meeting the needs of students in the areas of Language, Literacy and Numeracy, Foundation and Vocational Education (up to Year 9 level), General and Vocational Education (Year 10 equivalent), Higher School Certificate, Tertiary Preparation Certificate (HSC equivalent), Management Communication, Signed English, Auslan, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Career Education and Employment for Women (CEEW), Aboriginal Studies, Work Skills and Learning Support.
Our courses are designed to provide students with the education and training needed to go on to further study or seek employment.
Courses within the General Education Faculty give students a strong pathway from basic literacy and numeracy skills through to university level language and learning skills – all within a supportive environment. Students completing the Higher School Certificate, Tertiary Preparation Certificate or Management Communication Graduate Certificate can gain credits towards university study.

For people seeking short, customised courses to meet specific skills needs or community and industry groups seeking customised training for their staff, the General Education Faculty offers a number of TAFEPLUS courses on a commercial fee-for-service basis in areas such as communication skills, study skills and personal interaction.
