Murwillumbah
Murwillumbah, the business centre of the Tweed Shire, sits in the shadow of Mt Warning, the world’s biggest extinct shield volcano. Mt Warning is also known as Wollumbin to the local Bundjalung people and is an important sacred site. As Murwillumbah is 25 minutes from coastal areas and the Gold Coast, and 90 minutes from Brisbane, it is close to beautiful beaches, world heritage listed national parks and bustling metropolitan centres. Murwillumbah is also the home of the renowned ‘Speed on Tweed’ and ‘The Tweed Valley Banana and Harvest Week’ Festivals.
