This course is for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people who want an introduction to the visual arts/crafts. It gives you an opportunity for personal development and introduces you to basic knowledge and practical skills in visual arts and crafts, in a form suitable to your culture and community.

From the electives, you can study from a range of areas including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics. Before you can enrol in this course you must contact the campus or campuses of your choice for details of information sessions and other procedures that may apply. Compulsory attendance at an information session may apply.

Career Opportunities: Provides initial training for a career as a visual artist.

Articulation: This course articulates into the CUV20203 Certificate II in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts, TAFE NSW course 19102 and the CUV20103 Certificate II in Visual Arts and Contemporary Craft, TAFE NSW course 19112.

Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational requirements for this course. Preference will be given to Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders.
