This course is for people who want an introduction to the basic skills and knowledge to prepare them for work in a creative and production oriented environment within the fashion and/or textiles clothing and footwear industry. Depending on the electives selected, you can specialise in one of either basic textile development and production, clothing development and production, or the development and application of embellishments to footwear. In a highly supervised training environment you will learn about different areas of the TCF and the fashion industries, how to work safely and how to produce high quality products. This course is also available to high school students as a TAFE delivered 2 unit / 1 year Higher School Certificate TVET Content Endorsed Course entitled "Fashion Fundamentals".
Career Opportunities: This course provides an introduction to the fashion and TCF industry, and will help you make an informed decision about pursuing further training for a career in the industry.
Articulation: When you finish this course you may be eligible to do a higher level qualification in Clothing Production or Applied Fashion Design & Technology.
