This course is for people who want to enter the music industry with a range of underpinning skills and knowledge in music production. You can choose to coordinate technical production, manage a range of workplace situations and/or implement occupational health, safety and security practices important to the music production environment. You can also choose to develop music video analysis skills.

Articulation: When you finish this course you can continue on to further and related studies in the CUS60201 Advanced Diploma of Music Industry (Technical Production), TAFE course no: 3722 or CUS50201 Diploma of Music Industry (Technical Production), TAFE course no: 7821.

Alternative Exit points: Depending on your choice of electives, you may be eligible to receive the CUS30201 Certificate III in Music Industry - Technical Production, TAFE course no: 7819. Additional charges apply.

Entry Requirements: NSW Higher School Certificate (or equivalent statement from another educational authority), or CUS20101Certificate II in Music Industry (Foundation), TAFE course no: 7814.

Selection Criteria: Your application will be assessed using the following selection criteria:

1. Display of commitment to study in the area of music industry technical production.

2. Display of some technical knowledge. 3. Evidence of experience in recording in a music industry context.

Selection Method: Your selection into this course will be based on the information provided on the TAFE NSW Application Form. Applicants are expected to answer a music industry technical production focussed questionnaire. This may be done through a sit-down test with specialist music staff, or, for those applicants challenged by distance by way of internet or other means.
