This course is for people who want to develop general skills in ceramics. You will learn wheelforming, handforming and mouldmaking methods, finishing methods, alternative media, professional arts practices and art theory. The course also introduces you to the use of creative strategies to express your individual ideas.
Career Opportunities: Ceramics craftsperson, technical support assistant in tertiary education, tutor in community campuses and teacher's aide in high schools, arts/crafts related work or self-employment.
Articulation: This course articulates into the 90343NSW Diploma of Ceramics (90342NSW), TAFE course no: 7565.
Entry Requirements: Completion of the requirements for the award of the NSW HSC or equivalent, and submission of a portfolio; or completion of a 90346NSW Certificate III in Ceramics or equivalent, and submission of a portfolio.

Applying and Enrolling:
Semester 1, 2009: North Coast Institute application form by 31 October 2008. Late applications will be accepted.
Campuses:
Lismore - Full-time, 18 hours per week for 36 weeks, Wednesdays - Fridays, 9.30 am - 4.00 pm.
Course related charge $300.00.
Successful applicants will be required to present a portfolio at interview in early December 2008. Details will be advised in writing after the application closing date.
