This course is for trainees and other people who want to acquire the skills needed to safely work in the dry cleaning industry. The course allows you to combine on-the-job with off-the-job training. You will learn about different areas of the dry cleaning industry such as the identification of fibres and fabrics, interpreting care labelling, safe handling, use and storage of dry cleaning chemicals and solvents, operating wet and dry cleaning machines, performing pre and post spotting, inspecting cleaned products, despatch, customer service, operating a small business, production operations, machine maintenance, warehousing and distribution, front line management and workplace training and assessment. The course is made up of core and elective modules/units. You must complete at least eight elective modules/units to receive the qualification. You will need access to plant and equipment, such as wet and dry cleaning machines, to complete some of the modules/units in this course.

Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational requirements for entry to this course. Direct entry or the Certificate I in Dry Cleaning Operations (TAFE NSW Course no 7688), the Certificate II in Dry Cleaning Operations (TAFE NSW Course no 7689) or equivalent competencies. Certain modules require access to industry specific plant and equipment.
Early Exit Points: Depending on your choice of electives, you may be eligible to receive: * LMT11000 Certificate I in Dry Cleaning Operations (7688); * LMT21500 Certificate II in Dry Cleaning Operations (7689).
