This course is for people who want to develop the skills, knowledge and abilities required for undertaking basic interior decoration and refurbishment projects. The course gives you a grounding in design elements and principles; typical usage of materials relating to interior decoration; the creation of particular effects through the application of furnishings, fixtures and finishes and the selection of fabrics and materials. You will explore a variety of ways to successfully meet the needs of a client which will enhance and complement an interior space. This course also covers relevant industry OH&S requirements.
Career Opportunities: Assistant interior decorator, or assistant stylist.
Articulation: When you finish this course you can apply to do the 90352NSW Diploma of Interior Decoration (TAFE NSW Course no 7556) with credit.
Entry Requirements: NSW Higher School Certificate (or equivalent, from another educational authority).
International students must attain one of the following minimum standards of proficiency in English: International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 6, Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) 550, Combined Universities Language Test (CULT) 60% or International Second Language Proficiency Rating (ISLPR) 3+, or equivalent.
