The Diploma in Training and Assessment specifies the competencies required to engage in advanced training and assessment practice which may also include competence in one or more of the following areas: development of training products, provision of training advisory and consultancy services and leadership and coordination of training and assessment services.

It will enable participants to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to competently manage training and assessment programs in a large training facility or a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

Participants satisfying the evidence requirements will be able to:
- lead and coordinate assessment systems and services;
- lead and conduct training and/or assessment evaluations;
- provide advanced facilitation to support learning;
- design and develop learning strategies;
- maintain and enhance professional practice;
- organisational training policies;
- coordinate traineeships;
- manage RTO scope;
- manage e-learning and resources;
- manage training needs analysis;
- manage training resources;
- contract tendering;
- provide advanced facilitation.

This course is suitable for people who are required by their workplace to develop skills in management of the delivery of training and assessment programs, especially where required by an RTO for quality and AQTF purposes.

Career Opportunities: Training manager positions, senior training/learning officer positions and Registered Training Organisation management positions.

Entry Requirements: Must have the core units of the TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training or Assessment or be able to demonstrate equivalent competence. Access to a workplace or simulated workplace activities is needed to do this course.
