This course will allow you to develop knowledge and skills to pursue employment and/or further training in a range of business areas. It will allow you to develop skills in exercising initiative in a business environment, organising workplace information, producing business documents, maintaining financial records, delivering and monitoring a service to customers, participating in occupational health and safety processes, producing texts from notes, producing texts from audio transcription, designing and developing business documents, creating electronic presentations and organising schedules.
This course meets requirements for the achievement of a qualification at AQF Level 3 of the Business Services Training Package.
Career Opportunities/Vocational Outcomes: Job roles and titles vary across different industry sectors. This course is suitable for you if you wish to work as an Accounts Receivable Clerk, Accounts Payable Clerk, Clerk, Data Entry Operator, Junior Personal Assistant, Receptionist, Office Administration Assistant, Office Administrator, Word Processing Operator.
Articulation: When you finish this course you can apply to do BSB40507 Certificate IV in Business Administration, TAFE NSW course no: 17808 or a range of other certificate IV qualifications.
Entry requirements: Preferred pathways into this qualification include:
- evident of competency in the majority of units required for BSB20107 Certificate II in Business or other relevant qualification(s) or equivalent
or
- with some vocational experience assisting in a range of support roles without a formal business qualification. Examples of indicative job roles when seeking entry based upon vocational experience include: Administration assistant, clerical worker, data entry operator, information desk clerk, office junior, or receptionist. This breadth of expertise would equate to the competencies required to undertake this qualification.
