This course is recognised by industry as an appropriate qualification for employment as a human resource manager or specialist or for a line manager or supervisor or team leader undertaking management of the human resource function.

The qualification aims to provide the skills and knowledge required to work in human resources as a manager or specialist or as a supervisor or team leader with HRM responsibilities.

The course provides for training and the development of competencies in the following areas:
- labour markets and diversity;
- human resource consultancy;
- performance management;
- human resource information systems;
- IR policies and processes and IR dispute management;
- managing recruitment and selection;
- managing employee separation;
- managing work-like skills;
- managing rehabilitation and return to work;
- managing remuneration;
- mediation.

Career Opportunities: Supervisor of the human resource management function in an organisation, or generalist human resource manager.

Articulation: When you finish this course you can apply for advanced standing in BSB60907 Advanced Diploma of Management (Human Resources) (17843) and up to 30% credit into selected university Human Resource programs.

Entry Requirements: Preferred pathways into this qualification are: After achieving the BSB41007 Certificate IV in Human Resources (17841), or similar qualification/s Providing evidence of competency in the majority of units required for the BSB41007 Certificate IV in Human Resources (17841) or other relevant qualification/s Some vocational experience in human resource management, but without formal qualifications.
