This course is for people, including trainees in legal administration, who want to work as legal secretaries and administrators in a legal environment. It is also suitable for people who want to work in non-legal offices such as accounting firms and banks.
You will learn how to draft legal correspondence, maintain records for time and legal disbursements and apply principles of confidentiality and security in the legal office. You will also learn how to handle receipt and dispatch of information and to use advanced functions of office equipment. You will also learn to negotiate with team members to allocate and complete tasks and coordinate your own work schedule with that of others to achieve agreed team goals.
Career Opportunities: legal secretary or support person working in a legal environment.
Articulation: Graduates from this course will receive advanced standing in the BSA40200 Certificate IV in Business (Legal Services).
Entry Requirements: NSW School Certificate (or equivalent from another educational authority). Learners may enter at any stage in the course, depending on their relevant pre-existing skills.
