This course is for graduates from lower level administration courses, people returning to workforce and seeking to enter at Diploma level, people wishing to extend career path options and people currently in the workforce who want to upgrade skills or have existing skills recognised. The course provides managerial-level training for clerks and administrative workers. It provides a basis for a wide range of careers and occupations. You will learn how to establish and maintain a workgroup network; manage meetings; plan and manage conferences; plan or review administration systems; manage payroll and manage business document design and development.
In addition, you will develop specialised skills in one of the following areas: record keeping, business management, strategic management, business development, advertising, marketing, legal.
Career Opportunities: Office manager, business administrator, senior executive assistant.
Articulation: When you have finished this course you will get credit towards other business courses in TAFE NSW. The amount of credit will depend on the electives you have chosen. Some universities may give advanced standing for modules completed in this course.
Entry Requirements: BSB40201 Certificate IV in Business Administration or equivalent.
Applicants should be advised that to successfully complete this course, the following skills and experience are recommended prior to enrolling:
* Have used at least one electronic administration system in an office (eg ordering system, record keeping system, HR system, financial system)
* Have high level oral and written communication skills within the office environment
* Have administered a project, preferably using a project management system
