This course is for people who want to know more about nursing with the aim of pursuing a nursing career. It provides a career pathway into aged care work, acute health care or enrolled nursing. You will learn about the role and functions of a nurse, nursing practices in the health and aged care industry, anatomy and physiology, effective communication strategies, legal and ethical issues in health care, occupational health and safety issues and working with people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
Career Opportunities: Assistant nurse in acute health care or aged care, or enrolled nurse.
Articulation: When you finish this course you will have achieved three units of competence from the Community Services Training Package (CHC02) and four units of competency from the Health Training Package (HLT07). You may also seek articulation into: - CHC30102 Certificate III in Aged Care Work (4480) - HLT32507 Certificate in Health Services Assistance (Assisting in Nursing in Acute Care) course (17596) - HLT43407 Certificate IV in Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing) (3262).
