In this course you will learn how to service the mechanical and electrical systems of motor vehicles. It is a pathway to a traineeship in the servicing sector of the automotive industry.

Articulation: Successful completion of this course will achieve units of competence from the Automotive Retail Service and Repair Training package (AUR05). The units from this qualification will be recognised in other Certificate III courses such as the AUR30405 Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Heavy Vehicle Road Transport) TAFE NSW Course no 5771, the AUR30405 Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle) TAFE NSW Course no 9003, and the AUR30405 Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Heavy Vehicle Mobile Equipment) TAFE NSW Courser no 5772.

Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational requirements for this course. The learner must be employed or have access to a workplace in the automotive service industry to be able to gain sufficient experience to successfully complete the unit of competencies requirements.

Early Exit Points: Students who do not complete this course may be eligible for the award of qualification AUR20705 - CII in Automotive Mechanical (Driveline/Transmission) if they have completed the units of competence required for the Certificate II course.
