This course is for apprentices in the bricklaying/blocklaying trade.

You will learn how to lay bricks and blocks using different bonds. You also learn how to construct ornamental panels, feature walls, arches and columns.

Your learning will include laying of brickwork/blockwork for domestic, commercial, industrial and public buildings. You also learn about brick/block types, brick/block accessories, glues, brick/block patterns and cement mortars.

Career Opportunities: This course qualifies you to work in the bricklaying/blocklaying industry and satisfies the educational requirement of the Office of Fair Trading for the issue of a bricklaying/blocklaying trade contractors licence.

Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational entry requirements for this course. WorkCover regulations require that Learners must have completed an approved program in OHS General Construction Induction before carrying out construction work.
