This course is for apprentices who work in the painting and decorating trade.

You will learn about the processes, materials, tools and equipment used in industry. You will also develop specialised skills associated with the surface coating industry.

You will learn about the relationship of this trade to others in the building and construction industry, as well as how the industry is affected by technological and industrial change.

Career Opportunities: This course qualifies you to work in the painting and decorating industry and satisfies the educational requirement of the Office of Fair Trading for the issue of a painting and decorating trade contractors licence.

Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational entry requirements for this course. WorkCover regulations require that Learners must have completed an approved program in OHS General Construction Induction before carrying out construction work.
