This course is for people seeking entry into the general construction industry, primarily in the carpentry trade.

You will learn how to produce quality carpentry work whilst undertaking residential and/or community project(s).

Career Opportunities: General construction carpenter.

Articulation: When you finish this course you may be eligible to do Certificate III in Carpentry (BCG30203), TAFE course no: 4429 as well as other qualifications in the BCG03 General Construction Training Package.

Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational entry requirements for this course. However, learners who gain entry to this course must successfully complete a General Construction OHS Induction course/unit/module BEFORE being permitted entry into a TAFE NSW controlled worksite, workshop or participating in any construction or building activity, including the handling, sorting, stacking grading, recycling or disposal of any building or related materials.

A General Construction OHS Induction course can be completed as a TAFE PLUS short course. For more information ring 131601.
