Plant Operator
Qualification: TAFE PLUS Statement*
TAFE NSW Course No: 4876
Duration: 4 - 5 days, 8am - 5pm, depending on plant.
You can choose to complete the theory and assessment for one of more pieces of plant. The cost and length of the course will vary, depending on the plant covered by the course.
This course is mainly practical in content covering all aspects of machine operation required on the job.
Plant Operator includes trenching, backfill procedures, lifting and truck loading.
The theory content of the course emphasise the rules of safe operation.
Students are instructed on the procedures to inspect machines before driving and how to ensure that the machines are properly serviced.
Workcover accredited assessors conduct individual assessment which enable successful students to obtain a Workcover Licence.
