This course is for vehicle body building apprentices or people who have entered into a relevant training agreement. You will learn how to safely prepare a range of materials and equipment and learn how to weld automotive panels, chassis and structures. You will also learn how to manufacture wiring harnesses, fabricate a range of components, instal glass and fittings and modify chassis and frames.
Career Opportunities: Successful completion of this course would enable you to be employed as a automotive body builder in the automotive industry.
Articulation: If you have completed Automotive Certificate I 9001 or Automotive Vehicle Body - Panel Preparation Certificate II 5299 you will be eligible for articulation into this course.
Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational requirements for this course. The learner must be employed or have access to a workplace in the automotive service industry to be able to gain sufficient experience to successfully complete the unit of competencies requirements.
