This course is for vehicle painting apprentices or people who have entered into a relevant training agreement. You will learn how to safely prepare a range of materials, equipment and motor vehicles for the application of a range of paint finishes including clear over base, multi layer/ pearl, air dry enamel/polyurethane. You will also learn how to colour match.

Career Opportunities: Successful completion of this course would enable you to be employed as a vehicle painter in the automotive industry.

Articulation: If you have completed AUR10105 Certificate I in Automotive, TAFE course no: 9001 or AUR20905 Certificate II in Automotive Vehicle Body (Specialising in Panel Preparation), TAFE course no: 5299 you will be eligible for articulation into this course. Successful completion of this course will achieve units of competency from the Automotive Industry Retail, Service and Repair training package (AUR05). This qualification and the associated units will be recognised in other Certificate III and Certificate IV qualifications such as AUR30805 Certificate III in Automotive Vehicle Body (Specialising in Panel Beating), TAFE course no: 5300 and the AUR40205 Certificate IV in Automotive Technology - Vehicle Body, TAFE course no: 17397.

Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational requirements for this course. The learner must be employed or have access to a workplace in the automotive service industry to be able to gain sufficient experience to successfully complete the unit of competencies requirements.
