This course is for people working in the motorcycle industry who want a career as a motorcycle service mechanic and have entered into a training agreement. In this course you will learn how to service and perform minor repairs on the engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brake and electrical systems and components of motorcycles. It is a pathway to a traineeship in motorcycle servicing sector of the automotive industry.

Career Opportunities: Successful completion of this course, along with the relevant work experiences, would enable you to be employed as a motorcycle service mechanic in the automotive industry.

Articulation: Successful completion of this course will achieve units of competency from the Automotive Retail Service and Repair Training Package (AUR05). This qualification, and the units will be recognised in other Certificate III courses such as the AUR30405 Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Motorcycle) TAFE NSW Course no 5614 and the AUR30405 Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle) TAFE NSW Course no 9003.

Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational requirements for this course. The learner must be employed as a trainee in the motorcycle service industry to be able to gain sufficient experience to achieve the units of competence requirements.
