This course is for people working in the automotive industry who want a career as a motorcycle mechanic and have entered into a training agreement. You will learn how to service and repair motorcycles and how to service, repair and diagnose faults in motorcycle engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering and electrical systems and components.

Career Opportunities: Successful completion of this course, with the relevant work experiences, would enable you to be employed as a mechanic in the motorcycle industry.

Articulation: Successfful completion of this course will achieve units of competency from the Automotive Retail Service and Repair Training Package (AUR05). This qualification and the units will be recognised in other Certificate III and Certificate IV courses such as the 9003 Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle) and the 9004 Certificate IV in Automotive Technology (Mechanical) .

Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational requirements for this course. The learner must be employed as an apprentice in the motorcycle industry to be able to gain sufficient experience to achieve the units of competence requirements.
