This course is for people working in the tyre industry who want a career as a light vehicle tyre fitter and have entered into a training agreement. In this course you will learn how to fit and repair light vehicle tyres. It is a pathway to a traineeship in the tyre fitting industry.
Career Opportunities: Successful completion of this course, along with the relevant work experience would enable you to be employed as a light vehicle tyre fitter in the automotive industry.
Articulation: Successful completion of this course will provide articulation into many Certificate III related courses/qualifications contained in the Automotive Retail Service and Repair Training Package (AUR05). Typical examples of such courses would be the AUR30405 Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical (Light Vehicle), TAFE course no: 9003, the AUR30405 Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical (Motorcycle),TAFE course no: 5614, and the AUR30405 Certificte III in Automotive Mechanical (Heavy Vehicle Road Transport), TAFE course no: 5771. This is possible as the units of competence contained in the Automotive Retail Service and Repair Training Package (AUR05) are not individual units specific to specialised industry sectors, but units that are contextualised to the specific work place requirements at the time of delivery. Students articulating into this course will gain automatic exemption from any unit successfully completed in any other course they have been enrolled in. Similarly, students articulating into another course from this course will be granted automatic exemption from any unit successfully completed in this course.
Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational requirements for this course. The learner must be employed as a trainee in the light vehicle tyre industry to gain sufficient experience to acheive the units of competence requirements.
