In this course you will learn how to service and repair both hydraulic and braking systems on motor vehicles.

Career Opportunities: Brake mechanic in the automotive industry.

Articulation: Successful completion of this course will achieve units of competence from the Automotive Retail Service and Repair Training Package (AUR05). The units from this qualification will be recognised in other Certificate III courses such as the AUR30405 Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle) TAFE NSW Course no 9003, the AUR30405 Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Heavy Vehicle Road Transport) TAFE NSW Course no 5771, and the AUR30405 Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Motorcycle) TAFE NSW Course no 5614.

Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational requirements for this course. The learner must be employed as an apprentice in the relevant trade area.

Early Exit Points: Students who do not complete this course may be eligible for the award of qualification AUR21699 - Certificate II in Automotive Mechanical (Underbody) if they have completed the units of competence required for the Certificate II course.
