This qualification is for trainee heavy vehicle service mechanics in the road transport equipment service industry. You will work on trucks and buses. You will learn how various systems on these vehicles operate, and will learn how to maintain, test, diagnose, and repair those systems and components.

Articulation: There are significant opportunities for articulation within and across the service and repair qualifications of the Automotive Industry Retail, Service and Repair Training Package (AUR05). The Training Package provides clear pathways from Certificate I through to the Diploma level. For the AUR20505 Certificate II in Automotive Vehicle Servicing the Training Package provides the following pathway: - AUR10105 Certificate I in Automotive, AUR20505 Certificate II in Vehicle Servicing, AUR30505 Certificate III in Automotive Specialist, AUR40205 Certificate IV in Automotive Technology and AUR50205 Diploma of Automotive Technology.

Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational requirements for this qualification. The learner must be employed or have access to a workplace in the heavy vehicle service industry to be able to gain sufficient experience to successfully complete the unit of competence requirements.
