This qualification is for apprentice or trainee heavy vehicle mechanics in the agricultural vehicle/equipment service industry. You will work on equipment such as tractors, harvestors and other farm machinery. You will learn how the various systems operate, and how to maintain, test, diagnose, and repair those systems and components.
Career Opportunities: Successful completion of this qualification would enable you to be employed as a heavy vehicle motor mechanic in the agricultural industry.
Articulation: You may be eligible for advance standing in this qualification if you have successfully completed any units of competence or Certificate II or Certificate III qualifications from the Automotive Industry Retail, Service and Repair Training Package AUR05.
Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational requirements for this qualification. The learner must be employed or have access to a workpalce in the heavy vehicle (agricultural) service and repair industryto be able to gain sufficient experience to successfully complete the unit of competence requirements.
