In this course you will learn how to service the mechanical and electrical systems of marine craft. It is a pathway to a traineeship in the servicing sector of the marine industry.

Career Opportunities: Service mechanic in the marine industry.

Articulation: Successful completion of this course will achieve units of competency from the Automotive Retail Service and Repair Training Package (AUR05). This qualification and the units will be recognised in other Certificate II and Certificate III courses such as the AUR20505 Certificate II in Automotive Vehicle Servicing (Light Vehicle) TAFE NSW Course no 9002, the AUR30505 Certificate III in Marine (Mechanical) TAFE NSW Course no 6999, and the AUR30405 Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle) TAFE NSW Course no 9003.

Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational requirements for this course. The learner must be employed as a trainee in the marine service and repair industry to be able to gain sufficient experience to achieve the units of competence requirements.
