This course is for people working in the marine industry who want a career as a marine mechanic and have entered into a training agreement.

You will learn how to service and repair marine vessels and how to service, repair and diagnose faults in marine engines, transmissions, hydraulic and electrical systems and components.

Career Opportunities: Successful completion of this course would enable you to be employed as a marine mechanic in the recreational boating industry.

Articulation: Successful completion of this course will achieve units of competency from the Automotive Retrail Service and Repair Training Package (AUR05). This qualification, and the units, will be recognised in other CIII courses such as: 9003 CIII in Automotive Mechanical Technology - Light Vehicle, 6996 CIII in Electrical Technology.

Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational requirements for this course. The learner must be employed as an apprentice in the marine repair industry to be able to gain sufficient experience to successfully achieve the requirements of the units of competence.

Part-time day, 8 hours per week for 36 weeks. Fridays 8.00 am to 5.00 pm.
