TDM40101 Certificate IV in Transport and Distribution (Maritime Operations) - Master Class IV course

This course is for people who want to command commercial vessels less than 35 metres in Australian coastal or middle waters or vessels less than 80 metres within Inshore Operational limits specified by the Uniform Shipping Laws.

Evidence of sea time/service on board a vessel will be required to obtain a certificate of competency from the state regulatory authority.

Career Opportunities: Upon gaining the qualification, graduates may continue gaining experience on larger vessels in order to progress to a master 3 certificate of competency for foreign going vessels. This can be achieved by completing the TDM50101 Diploma in Transport and Distribution (Maritime Operations).

Articulation: When you finish this course you may be eligible to receive credit for the common modules in TDM20201 Certificate II in Transport and Distribution (Marine Engine Driving), TAFE course no: 8167, TDM30201 Certificate III in Transport and Distribution (Marine Engine Driving), TAFE course no: 8168 and TDM40201 Certificate IV in Transport and Distribution (Marine Engineering), TAFE course no: 8169.

Entry Requirements: TDM30101 Certificate III in Transport and Distribution (Maritime Operations) or hold a Certificate of Competency as Master Class 5 or other qualification recognised by the marine regulatory authority of the state.
