In this course you will learn the basic principles of how the motor vehicle works and how to carry out minor service procedures. This course is a pathway to a traineeship in the servicing sector of the automotive industry.

Career Opportunities: Successful completion of this course would enable you to carry out further studies and pursue a career in the automotive industry.

Articulation: Successful completion of this course will achieve units of competency from the Automotive Industry Retail, Service and Repair Training Package AUR05. This qualification and the units will be recognised in other Certificate II and Certificate III courses such as the Certificate II in Automotive Vehicle Servicing (Light Vehicle) 9002, the Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Heavy Vehicle Road Transport) 5771, and the Certificate III in Automotive Vehicle Body (Vehicle Painting) 5357.

Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational requirements for this course.However,it will be neccessary for students to have access to a simulated industrial environment, or an industrial environment to gain sufficient experiences to achieve the standards specified in the units of competency.
