This course is for Aboriginal people who work or who want to work as Aboriginal Education Assistants. You will learn about contemporary issues in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. You will also learn about using counselling skills in working with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in the school and the community, and maintaining effective relationships with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in the school and the community.

Articulation:When you finish this course you may be eligible for advanced standing in 90813NSW Certificate III in Aboriginal Studies and 91048NSW Diploma of Aboriginal Studies, TAFE course no: 4166.

Entry Requirements: Aboriginality is an essential requirement for entry into this course.
