This course develops skills and knowledge in Aboriginal Studies to enable you to pursue a number of professions in government agencies, educational organizations and industries. The course is for people who want to learn about aspects of Aboriginal culture, history and contemporary issues.

Career Opportunities: Completion of this course could benefit teachers, community workers, those working in government organisations, tourism and hospitality industries, retail services, the manufacturing industry, welfare agencies, banking and small business enterprise. This Diploma is recognised as meeting the vocational qualification requirements to teach Aboriginal Studies in TAFE NSW. There are also educational qualifications and relevant experience requirements.

Entry Requirements: Certificate III in Aboriginal Studies (90813NSW) OR satisfactory completion of Year 12 (or equivalent statement from another educational authority).

Applying and Enrolling:
Preference into this course is given to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

Semester 1 2009: North Coast Institute Application Form by 31 October 2008. Late Applications will be accepted.

Campuses:

Coffs Harbour Education Campus - 20 hours per week for 36 weeks, Mondays to Thursdays, 9.00 am to 4.00 pm. Students need to have completed their HSC or equivalent or a Certificate III qualification in Employment, Education or Training.
