This course is for adults from language backgrounds other than English. The course is designed for students with a minimum English language proficiency of International Second Language Proficiency Ratings (ISLPR) 2, or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 4. The course helps you to develop English language skills for research, writing and spoken presentation, so you can apply to do further study at TAFE NSW or other post-secondary education institutions. Before you enrol in this course you need to have an interview. The interview will help to make sure this is the right course for you, in terms of your current English language skills and your future goals. Please contact your campus about this before you enrol.

Career Opportunities: Students who successfully complete this course will have developed the English language skills to help them undertake further vocational study at TAFE NSW and other post-secondary education institutions.

Articulation: When you finish this course you will have the English language skills necessary to apply to do other TAFE Certificate courses requiring NSW School Certificate or equivalent. Successful completion of this course satisfies the English language entry requirement to TAFE NSW courses requiring IELTS 5.5 or 6 at entry.

You will also need to attend an interview and assessment before enrolling.

Kingscliff -Full-time or part-time, 4-20 hours per week. Monday & Friday 9.00am to 2.30 pm, Wednsesday and Thursday 9.00 am to 1.00 pm (DST). You can enrol at any time during the year.
