This course is for people who want to prepare for the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) test at the para-professional level. The course teaches you interpreting techniques, gives you a knowledge of the professional practices and ethics of interpreting and prepares you to sit the NAATI test.
Career Opportunities: This course can provide a pathway to be an interpreter, para-professional level. An interpreter, para-professional level can be employed by Centrelink, the Translating and Interpreting Service, and departments of health, immigration, social security and ethnic affairs.
Articulation: On completion of the course students can apply to sit for the NAATI test at the paraprofessional level.
Entry Requirements: NSW School Certificate or equivalent. Sufficient oral and written fluency in English and another language to be able to move easily between formal and informal aspects of the other language and of English. Familiarity with general vocabulary of the two languages. Language entry levels may be assessed by means of bilingual oral and written tests.

Campuses:
Lismore - Part-time day/evening, 6 hours per week for 18 weeks in terms 2 and 3.
