Qualification: Certificate IV (AQF)
TAFE NSW Course No: 6502
The Certificate IV in Tertiary Preparation (91178NSW) develops the range of skills necessary to gain entry to and succeed in tertiary education and employment.
TPC recognises that mature students are independent and self motivated, can manage their own learning, have personally preferred learning styles, accept change, can identify and achieve personal educational goals and can assess their success as learners.
Students who successfully complete the TPC, will be eligible to receive the scaled Tertiary Entrance Score (TES). The Universities Admission Centre (UAC) uses the TAFE calculated TES to assist universities in making offers of places to TPC graduates. It is also possible to gain credit towards a vocational qualification if you choose to study vocational electives which are part of this course. You should see a TAFE counsellor before you enrol in this course.
Career Opportunities: The TPC provides an opportunity for students to enter courses and/or employment options where a Year 12 equivalent qualification is required.
Articulation: Successful completion of this course with the award of a suitable TES, using the results from the three best group B general education modules, will allow you to gain entry to university courses. Successful completion of vocational electives in this course may allow credit transfer into TAFE vocational courses. This course is recognised for entry into TAFE diploma courses.
Entry Requirements: NSW School Certificate (or equivalent, for example, completion of the TAFE NSW Certificate II in General and Vocational Education (CGVE) (90279NSW).
