Statement of Attainment in Education Support - Aboriginal

This course is for Aboriginal people who work or want to work in educational settings as Aboriginal Education Support workers. You will acquire the skills and knowledge needed to work with Aboriginal learners in an educational support setting, either public, private and/or community based. The course consists of a compulsory core with electives providing you with a choice. You will learn about contemporary issues in Aboriginal communities. You will also learn about maintaining effective relationships with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in the school and the community.

Career Opportunities: A range of employment opportunities and/or further study pathways in the area of education.

Articulation: This course provides a pathway into the Certificate III in Education Support - Aboriginal.

Entry Requirements: This course is for Aboriginal people. Participants must be able to read, comprehend and discuss printed, familiar information in English and write simple statements in English. Participants must have access to a relevant workplace either as a paid worker or in a voluntary capacity.
