This course is for people who want to acquire basic computer skills required in an increasing proportion of contemporary job roles. You will develop the knowledge and skills required to successfully operate a personal computer and operate a range of application software, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation packages, email and Internet browsers.

The outcomes provide a foundation for developing higher-order computing and information technology skills. When you finish this course, you can apply for advanced standing in the ICA20105 Certificate II in Information Technology, TAFE course no: 19001 and will be given credit for Certificate I units which are included in Certificate II and III level courses.

Career Opportunities: Provide basic support to an office assistant or equivalent at a junior level.

Articulation: When you finish this course you can apply for advanced standing in the ICA20105 Certificate II in Information Technology and will be given credit for Certificate I units which are included in Certificates II and III.

Ballina - You need to have basic English and Maths skills to apply for this course. No previous computer skills are necessary. You will also need to complete the Basic Skills Evaluation form and lodge with your application.
Part-time, 7 hours per week for 18 weeks, Fridays, 9.00 am - 3.00 pm.
An enrolment session for successful students will be held on Tuesday 27 January 2009, 4.00 pm - 6.00 pm, Room AG.02.
