This course is for people who want to acquire foundation level information and communications technology (ICT) skills and knowledge to be able to participate in various areas of the information technology industry.
You will learn about the basic setting up and use of computing equipment with a range of application software, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentation packages. You will also develop the skills needed to operate successfully in the workplace.
Career Opportunities: Computer Operator, Help Desk Operator, Software Support Officer, Data Entry Operator, Word Processing Operator or Office assistant.
Articulation: When you finish this course, you may apply for advanced standing in a range of Information Technology courses at Certificate III, IV and Diploma level.
Entry Requirements: NSW School Certificate (or equivalent).
