This course provides basic skills in computer hardware, software and system support. A person with these skills would be able to provide first level computer support to people using ICT in a small unit or branch within an organisation.
You will learn about computer hardware, system and application software and the associated diagnostics. You will also develop skills in basic system administration and customer support. This course provides a natural progression into the ICA40205 Certificate IV in Information Technology (Support).
Career Opportunities: Computer or user support role.
Articulation: This course provides a pathway to achievement of competencies required to receive the ICA30105 Certificate III in Information Technologyas defined in the nationally endorsed Information and Communications Technology Training Package ICA05. When you finish this course, you may be eligible for advanced standing in several IT Certificate IV and Diploma level courses including courses in the area of Support and Websites. When you finish this course you will be eligible to receive the ICA30105 Certificate III in Information Technology specialising in Support.
