This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to become competent in examining existing IT systems and designing or modifying them to suit changing user needs.

You will develop skills in determining client business needs, determining and using appropriate development methodologies and developing detailed technical designs. You will also identify physical database requirements, build databases and use structured query languages (SQL) to develop database structures and manipulate data. Graduates at this level would most likely work as part of a project team.

Career Opportunities: IT analyst, IT architect, IT designer, systems analyst, system designer.

Articulation: This course provides a pathway to achievement of competencies required to receive ICA40705 Certificate IV in Information Technology (System Analysis and Design). There are several vendor courses that may be integrated into this qualification. When you complete this course, you may be eligible for advanced standing in ICA50805 Diploma of Information Technology (Systems Analysis and Design), TAFE course no: 19013 and ICA50305 Diploma of Information Technology (Systems Administration), TAFE course no: 19015.
