This course is for electrical trade apprentices and trainees who want to work as an electrical tradesperson (fitter).

You will learn to maintain and repair electrical appliances, components and machines within a variety of industrial and commercial contexts. This qualification meets the NSW Office of Fair Trading's requirements for issuing a Qualified Supervisor's Certificate - Restricted Electrical Work. This permits the holder to work unsupervised, to disconnect/reconnect specific electrical apparatus and to supervise others in this work.

Articulation: When you finish this course you may be eligible to do either UTE41301 Certificate IV in Electrotechnology Renewable Energy, TAFE course no: 4291, UTE41299 Certificate IV in Electrotechnology Systems Electrician, TAFE course no: 9202 or 91027NSW Diploma of Electrical Engineering, TAFE course no: 0249.

Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational requirements for this course, however a contract of training is needed to do this course. A NSW School Certificate (or equivalent) is recommended.

Applying and Enroling: This is an apprenticeship course. Attend the Enrolment session, where listed, or contact the campus to arrange a suitable enrolment time with the Electrotechnology Head Teacher.

Campuses:

Port Macquarie - Continuing course. Places may be available in some units depending on previous study and experience in this area. Part-time, 1 day (8 hours) per week for 3 years, 8am - 5pm. Contact the Head Teacher, Rex Davies on (02) 6581 6222 to discuss enrolling in this course.
