This course is for people requiring the knowledge and skills to work or seek employment as a Flux Cored Arc Welder (FCAW) in a metal fabrication or allied engineering industry. You will learn the practical skills and techniques associated with the (FCAW) process to join materials in all weld positions, heat, cut and gouge materials, interpret engineering drawings and use a variety of hand and power tools/equipment to fabricate metal components. This Statement of Attainment course is designed to accommodate both off-the-job training and on-the-job training and experience. The duration of this program will vary depending on the competency unit(s) selected.

Career Opportunities: Completion of competency units in this course will enhance your career progression under the Federal Metal and Engineering Industries Award.

Articulation: When you finish this course you will be eligible to enrol in other courses in the Metal and Engineering Training Package MEM05.
