Restricted Electrical Work - Disconnect/Reconnect

This course is for people with a non-electrical trade qualification who want to acquire skills to undertake limited electrical work.
You will learn about electrical safety, basic electrical circuits, terminating conductors to Australian Standards, isolation procedures for circuits and associated loads, safe disconnection of equipment connected to supplies up to 650V and reconnection and testing of equipment.
Career Opportunities: This course provides restricted disconnection and reconnection skills to non-electrical tradespeople.
Articulation: The unit of competence in this course is nationally accredited and so will be recognised in any other course containing it.
Entry Requirements: Participants must provide documentary evidence that they hold trade level qualifications related to maintaining, servicing and /or repairing relevant equipment. This can be an appropriate Craft Certificate, Tradesman's Right's Certificate or Certificate of Proficiency as issued by a state or federal department of employment and training.
Participants must also show that carrying out restricted electrical work is a requirement of their job. A letter of support from the participant's employer, or equivalent, should be provided as proof of this requirement.
