This course is for people who want to become an electronics tradesperson. The course provides national competencies to enable you to select, install, set up, test, fault-find, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment and devices at component/sub-assembly level, with options in communictions, audio, video and TV, personal computer and networks, security and custom installations. This qualification does not permit the holder to work unsupervised on low voltage fixed wiring and equipment and to directly supervise others in this work.

Articulation: When you finish this course you can apply for advanced standing in: - Certificate IV in Computer Systems (UEE40106) - Certificate IV in Electronics and Communications (UEE30706) - Certificate IV in Video and Audio Systems (UEE41506)

Entry Requirements: Learners must either be in relevant employment or have access to appropriate workplace environments to achieve the completion requirements of this course. There are no formal educational requirements for entry to this course, however the Electrotechnology Training Package states that a prospective learner's general education and competency level should be equivalent to the outcome of four to five years of secondary school.
