This course is for people working in the food processing industry who want to gain skills in the operations and practices relevant to their workplace. You will develop skills and knowledge to enable you to work safely and efficiently in the running of processing equipment. You will learn how to implement food safety and quality system programs and procedures and about higher level workplace communication skills. You will also learn how to participate in the manufacturing operations by running or supporting the running of the food manufacturing processes. All the food processing industry sectors, including aerated waters, biscuits, confectionery, dairy processing, edible oils and fats, eggs, flour milling, fruit and vegetables, general foods, honey, ice, pastry, pet food, poultry, stock-feed milling, tea and coffee, are covered by this course. You can select units appropriate to your workplace. Enrolment in this course is subject to appropriate partnership arrangements being negotiated between relevant enterprises and TAFE NSW.
