Statement of Attainment in Chainsaw Operations (Level 1)

In this course you will undertake basic Level 1 training in Chainsaw Operation for the forestry industry. These skills can be used in a range of industries where chainsaws are used, including conservation and land management, rural production, horticulture, public services and utilities. Once you have successfully completed the course you can seek work in a Forests NSW area as a Level 1 Chainsaw Operator.

Entry Requirements: There are no formal entry requirements for this course. The completion of a First Aid Certificate that complies with the requirements of Forests NSW WorkCover is recommended given the extremely dangerous nature of chainsaw operations. Participants must have a high level of physical fitness and manual dexterity.

This course will be offered commercially on a fee-for-service basis. Course commencement is subject to sufficient demand and usually runs at most locations continuously throughout the year.
