This course is for people who want to learn how to use and maintain a chainsaw safely to a professional standard. You also learn how to crosscut fallen timber and safely fell trees described as Level 2 in typical forest felling situations.
On completing this course you will meet the training requirements for an operator's licence to use chainsaws in Level 2 forest harvesting operations in NSW State Forests.
Career Opportunities: Timber harvester.
Entry Requirements: There are no formal entry requirements for this course. It is recommended that learners should complete, or have completed, a First Aid Certificate that complies with the requirements of NSW WorkCover. To complete the course a high level of physical fitness and manual skill is required.
