This course is for people employed in the forest industries.
You will learn how to use and maintain a chainsaw safely to a professional standard. You also learn to crosscut fallen timber, fell Level 2 trees, fell Level 3 trees, and use a chainsaw in difficult situations.
On completing this course you will meet the training requirements for an operator's licence to use chainsaws in Level 3 forest harvesting operations in NSW State Forests.
Career Opportunities: Timber harvester.
Entry Requirements: There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however students need to have successfully completed the Statement of Attainment in Chainsaw Operations (Level 1) and the Statement of Attainment in Chainsaw Operations (Level 2). It is recommended that learners should complete, or have completed, a First Aid Certificate that complies with the requirements of NSW WorkCover. To complete the course a high level of physical fitness and manual skill is required.
