Statement of Attainment in Organic Farming Studies

Qualification: Statement of Attainment (AQF)
TAFE NSW Course No: 652

This course is for people who operate existing production units or who are considering converting to organic methods. It is also for people considering employment in organic enterprises.

The course provides vocational education and training in practical and technical skills, and the underpinning knowledge required to use sustainable organic agricultural practices, which maintain a balance of productivity with low impact on the environment to preserve the ecological quality of land for future use.

You will be able to apply these skills in farming organic produce and the management of organic enterprises.

This program will allow you to choose a program of study which develops skills and knowledge in managing organic production programs, producing marketable goods to meet customer specifications, applying quality assurance practices to industry standards, and maintaining the sustainability of the enterprise according to National Organic Standards.

This course has been developed to meet the increasing demand for organic produce, address issues of sustainable agricultural production, and to ensure conformity to National Standards for organic and biodynamic production.

Career Opportunities: Organic farm employee, organic producer, organic farm manager.

Articulation: When you finish this course you can apply for advanced standing in Certificate IV in Organic Farming (90574NSW), TAFE course no: 0653.

Entry Requirements: Completion of Year 10 or equivalent.

Applications will be considered from people who do not satisfy these entry requirements but have relevant workplace or other appropriate experience.
